Hello, I am Dr. Derrick King. I am excited to return to Lake County Virtual School for the 2020-2021 School Year. I look forward to continuing the virtual journey we began many years ago. I am especially pleased to work again with some of the best parents and students in our district.

I have served Lake County Schools in many capacities during my time in the district. My previous roles include ESE Support Facilitator, Reading Teacher, In School Suspension Teacher, Summer School Coordinator, HOPE Academy teacher, and ESE case manager, ESE Specialist, Testing Coordinator, Program Specialist, Instructional Dean and Assistant Principal. I take great pride in helping students succeed in the classroom.

I received my B.A. in Education from Warner University in Lake Wales, Florida. I received both my M.Ed. in Ed. Leadership and Doctorate in Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from National Louis University. I am a firm believer that with hard work, dedication, and a commitment to collaboration between the school and each parent, we can ensure that every student has the opportunity to be successful in our program.
